Main Tank Blood-Queen Lana’thel
Off Tank Blood-Queen Lana’thel
Ranged DPS Blood-Queen Lana’thel
Melee DPS Blood-Queen Lana’thel
Healer Phase 1 – 1 on tanks 1 on Raid

Phase 2 – Be prepared for some heavy healing during this aerial phase, USE your HoT’s

Raid Leader There are two phases for this encounter, first is land and the second is air. When you enagage Blood-Queen Lana’thel make sure your MT goes in first closely followed by the OT so that these two get linked with Blood Mirror.

Have your raid spread out about 6-10 yards from each so your close enough to run to each other or a selected area like the middle, when Pact of the Darkfallen is cast on targeted raid members. Pact of the Darkfallen is cast on two random raid members and will connect you with a red line. Run towards each other along the red line into the arbitary area (middle) away from the raid where once you reach each the other the debuff will cancel the AOE damage.

When one of your raid gets targeted with Swarming Shadows ensure they run to one of the walls (do not run through the raid) to drop it. As you run you will spawn a mass of shadows for 6 seconds which will remain for quite some time so ensure this is dropped away from the raid.

The key mechanic to this fight is Blood-Queen Lana’thel Vampiric Bite, this will make or break your raid. 15 Seconds into the fight Lana’thel will move to a raid member and bite them granting Essence of the Blood Queen. It’s the highest threat on the table after the tanks that is bitten first. The Essence lasts for 75 seconds in the 10 man granting 100% damage increase, self-healing equal to 15% of damage done and reduction of all threat to zero.

When the debuff ends the player will gain a different debuff called Frenzied Bloodthirst and a new action bar. Button 1 (unmapped default) will grant that player the ability to bite another raid member passing on (refreshing on biter) Essence of the Blood Queen. This must be done within 15 seconds of gaining the debuff Frenzied Bloodthirst or be lost to the mind control of the Blood-Queen.

Your going to need to plan your bites before this encounter starts, remember 1 becomes 2, 2 becomes 4 and 4 becomes 8. Whoever’s king of
hill on the DPS  table have them biten first after the inital bite and work to your next highest etc.. Your going to need to DPS this boss down before you run out of people to bite or you will wipe hence why this is such a DPS intensive fight.

Remember DO NOT bite the tanks and each raid member can only be bitten once.

2 Minutes into the fight and 1 minute 30 after that, phase 2 starts where Blood-Queen Lana’thel takes to the air. First the Blood-Queen will Incite Terror which will fear the entire raid for 4 seconds then cast Bloodbolt Whirl shooting lots of Twilight Bloodbolts at random players for 6 seconds.

This part of the fight is very healing intensive so you should use your defensive abilities here as during the next aerial phase there will be more vampires hence the increased ability to self-heal.

Rinse and repeat. Make sure the raid re-positions itself correctly.

25 Man Tanks will be hit easily for 25k plus so about five or six healers will be needed.

Essence of the Blood Queen in the 25 man lasts only 60 seconds before Frenzied Bloodthirst is applied so adjust the tactic to fit.

Heroic Blood-Queen Lana’thel has a buff called Presence of the Darkfallen. This increases damage done by her Shroud of Sorrow aura by 5% for every vampire in the raid.
